CPSP – CATS: In Action and On the Move

The Career Progression and Specialization Program-Credit Accumulation and Transfer System Program Management Committee (CPSP-CATS PMC) headed by Assistant Commissioner L. Louis P. Valera, Oversight for CPSP-CATS, recently concluded a series of cluster meetings aimed at ensuring the compliance of various professions in formulating structured career progression and specialization programs.

The CPSP-CATS PMC Vice Program Manager, Hon. Francis V. Mapile, the CPSP-CATS Cluster Chairpersons, Hon. Rolland Lyle D. Duque, Hon. Jaime V. Mendoza, Hon. Carmelita P. Pabiton, Hon. Cecilia Herras-Tence, and CPSP-CATS Consultant Ms. Perla Gonzales-Po, assisted Hon. Valera in the meeting.

Joined by various Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs) and CPSP-CATS Committees on 18 February 2025 (Health and Allied Cluster), 19 February 2025 (Engineering Cluster), 26 February 2025 (Business, Education and Social Cluster) and 28 February 2025 (Technology Cluster), the meetings were focused on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the standards and guidelines for career progression, ensuring that each profession is equipped with clear frameworks to support ongoing professional growth and specialization. These cluster meetings also provided a cross-sector collaboration, allowing the PRBs and other Committee members from a wide range of industries to come together, exchange valuable insights, and share strategies across diverse fields. By sharing best practices and experiences, the attendees were able to recognize the remarkable advancements made by certain professions in establishing career progression. The activity showcases the success and inspires other committees to make similar progress in their respective CPSP-CATS programs. 

The insights and recommendations from these collaborative meetings are now set to be put into action, with CPSP-CATS PMC playing a pivotal role in ensuring the implementation of the Commission’s mandate under the PQF. Assistant Commissioner Valera assured the Committees of the Commission’s steadfast support and guidance in their work.
