PRC Takes Part in the Successful Hosting of the 102nd ASEAN CCS

Manila, Philippines - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) takes part in the successful hosting of the 102nd ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Services (CCS) and Related Meetings held last 26-30 September 2022 and spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as the Philippines’ lead agency.

Staged in a hybrid set-up, the 102nd ASEAN CCS meetings took place at the Sheraton Hotel and attended by the various representatives from the participating ASEAN countries, joined by the Philippine delegates from various government agencies.

The PRC as the leading government agency working on Mutual Recognition Arrangements on professional services for Accountancy, Architecture, Engineering, Dentistry, Medicine, and Nursing participated in several hybrid meetings and activities with the Healthcare Services Sectoral Working Group (HSSWG) and the Business Services Sectoral Working Group (BSSWG) in collaboration with various Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs). The HSSWG is comprised of various ASEAN Joint Coordinating Committees.

Showcasing the Filipino professionals’ projects, works, customs, and/or practices to the delegates from the other ASEAN Member States, the PRC led the site visit of various local projects and institutions such as the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center (GAOC), 3M Customer Technical Center, Las Casas Pilipinas de Acuzar, University of the Philippines Diliman Department of Geodetic Engineering and Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry, Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) - Isla Lipana and Co., Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines, and MERALCO.

On behalf of the Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, PRC Chairperson Atty. Charito A. Zamora delivered the Secretary’s message during the welcome dinner for the BSSWG delegates.

Indeed, the Philippines’ hosting of the 102nd ASEAN CCS is a successful endeavor achieved through the cooperation of relevant government agencies, including the Commission, towards the continuous and improvement of the implementation of the ASEAN MRAs and Framework Arrangement for the benefit of professionals within the ASEAN region. Likewise, the consistent active participation of PRC and PRBs in the ASEAN CCS activities will ensure that Filipino professionals will continue to provide excellent professional services that can be globally recognized.
