MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES AND SINGAPORE - With twenty-eight (28) Professions and one (1) Face-to-Face Oral Examination for Professional Mechanical Engineers successfully administered during the 2024 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) and having served a total of five thousand eight hundred, and eighty-five (5,885) examinees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other Middle East countries, including Singapore, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) successfully held the three-day SPLE last June 16 – 18, 2024.

Spearheaded by the PRC delegates, the smooth and seamless conduct of the SPLE was made possible through the support and assistance of the Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs), the Department of Migrant Workers, the Philippine Embassies, and cooperation of the Philippine Professional Organizations (PPOs) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, State of Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, as well as Singapore.  In addition, a Face-to-Face Oral Examination for Professional Mechanical Engineers was also conducted in Doha, Qatar comprising of one hundred twenty-four (124) applicants.

The conduct of SPLE is pursuant to Executive Order No. 835, Directing the Professional Regulation Commission and Other Concerned Government Agencies Through the Department  of Labor and Employment to Conduct a Yearly Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE)  in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Other Middle East Countries for the Benefit of Qualified Filipino Workers and as part of its mandate to cater services closer to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and community, which will save time, resources, transportation, and other incidental costs of the supposed clienteles.

As the release of the results of the 2024 SPLE is now ongoing, another batch of professionals will hold their laurels high and value their professions towards accountability, competence, excellence, integrity, and professionalism. As passers of the 2024 SPLE, these new Overseas Filipino Professionals, will definitely be a part of the nation’s arm towards economic growth and development.
